27^th Congress of the Rei Cretariae Romanae Fautores
Late Roman and Early Byzantine Pottery:

Dear Fautor, Dear Colleague,

 

The XXVII International Congress of the Rei Cretariae Romanae Fautores will be held at Belgrade (Serbia) from Sunday September 19^th to Friday September 24^th 2010 with an optional post congress excursion from Saturday September 25^th to Sunday September 26^th        (departure from Belgrade on Monday September 27^th ).

 

We would like to warmly thank you for your interest in the 27^th Congress of the Rei Cretariae Romanae Fautores. We have already received 125 preliminary registrations, and offers of 64 lectures and 43 posters. The precise programme will be finalised in June 2010, but from now on, we can no longer accept any more offers of lectures.

The 3^rd circular, available in July, will be sent only to those people who have already submitted their Final Registration Form.

 

2. Congress Location

 

The congress will take place at the National Museum in Belgrade. The auditorium has 180 seats. It is equipped with all necessary facilities for the congress.

 

3. Lectures

 

We have received a large number of offers of lectures. After receiving the abstracts the Organizing Committee reserves the right to change an oral presentation to the poster section.

 

 

1. Posters

 

The poster session will take place on Thursday Sept 28^th at 18.00. Posters may be put up from Sunday September 19^th onward. The size of a poster must not exceed 80 cm (width) x 120 cm (height).

 

 

2. Abstracts

 

Abstracts should be sent EITHER both as paper copy and on disk OR by email, preferably in Word format. The abstract must not be longer than 1500 characters.

Deadline for the acceptance of abstracts: 16^th May 2010.

 

 

4. Accommodation

 

The congress fee does not cover the costs of accommodation.

 

Accommodation will be arranged by the conference organisers or by yourself. Together with this circular you will find the Hotel reservation form with a list of hotels which we recommend, with special prices. For reservation and payment of any hotel from that list, please contact:

Alternatively, you can choose some other hotel and make the reservation directly with that hotel. The list of hotels and hostels in Belgrade you can find on the site: www.hotels.rs or www.hostels.rs. Please make your reservation in good time;  September is a month full of fairs and congresses.

5. Excursions

 

Apart from the main congress events (lectures, exhibitions, and visits) which take place at Belgrade, two trips are planned:

 

Wednesday September 27^th:  Roman site of Viminacium with National Museum in Požarevac

Friday September 29^th:  Muzej Srema in Sremska Mitrovica and Roman site of Sirmium

7. Costs

 

The total congress fee is 210 EUR; this includes material for organization, registration, refreshments, whole day excursion to Pozarevac (Viminacium), with meals and half day excursion to Sremska Mitrovica (Sirmium), with lunch. It does not include the accommodation and the optional post congress excursion to Limes remains in the Iron Gates area. (See below).

 

Those accompanying the participants must pay the same fees as the participants.

 

 

8.    Post congress excursion to Limes remains in the Iron Gates area

 

The optional post congress excursion starts in the morning of Saturday 25^th September at Belgrade. On Sunday 26^th September in the late evening hours return to Belgrade. Transfer from Belgrade on Monday September 27^th.

Costs for the trip, including one night at Gamzigradska Banja and the meals: 80 EUR.

Costs for another night at Belgrade: remember to include this in your Belgrade booking!

 

 

9. Method of Payment

 

Participants should make all payments via the Kompas travel agency (there is only a fee of 5 EUR for all transfers from all countries).

Congress fee is 210 EUR (+5 EUR for payments by credit cards).
