Collection of the 18th and 19th century Drawings and Graphics of Serbian Authors

The Collection of the 18th and 19th century Drawings and Graphics of Serbian Authors includes some 1,000 artworks representing the development of drawing and graphic during 18th and 19th century in Serbia. Only in 2005 the Collection was formed as a separate collection within the Cabinet of Graphic Art, established in 1963.

The oldest objects in the Collection are the wood carvings of unknown artists. The beginning of the maturity of the 18th century graphic art is represented  by artworks of the first Serbian graphic artists Hristifor Žefarović and Zaharije Orfelin. Late 18th and early 19th centuries are represented by drawings of Arsa Teodorović and Dimitrije Avramović, as well as by lithographs of Pavel Đurković and Uroš Knežević. Stylistic periods of Biedermeier, Romanticism and Early Realism can be found in lithographs of Anastas Jovanović, drawings of Novak Radonić, Đorđe Krstić and Steva Todorović, Miloš Tenković and early works of Uroš Predić and Paja Jovanović.
