Note from Donor:

Marko was born into very difficult circumstances. He almost died at childbirth. He was brought to hospital by emergency – fighting for his life, and spent nine months in intensive care. The people who cared for him said he was their favourite baby. He had curly blond locks, and was a strong and happy baby.

As an orphan, after his hospitalisation he was transferred to a foster family where he remained for one year before we were elected as his adoptive parents.

Our first encounter with him was in a small town at a Social Welfare Centre. It left us completely breathless.

This little toy merry-go-round is significant as it’s the first toy he received from his new family.

Marko had numerous health issues, including asthma, skin lesions, etc – but this never prevented him from being the happiest baby we ever saw. He immediately accepted us as if we were always his, and he ours. We are now inseparable.
