Significant collections of the Department of Art History of Early Modern and Modern Period at the National Museum in Belgrade include artworks dating from the Middle Ages to the Modern and Contemporary Period. Their interpretation and publication is achieved through thematic exhibitions and accompanying catalogs, as well as through expert and scientific projects, connected to the research and publication of collection catalogs. Current projects of the Department include, research for the publications such as French Art in the National Museum Collection: Painting and Sculpture, Caricature from the Collection of Drawings and Graphics of Yugoslav Authors, Drawings of the 20th Century Yugoslav Artists from the Collection of Drawings and Graphics of Yugoslav Authors, Collection of Drawings of European Modernism from the Collection of Drawings and Graphics of Foreign Authors and Collection Catalog of the 20th Century Yugoslav Painting.
